Meet Stanley in this Disabled Dogs video!

Video by: Tiffany Obembe | @tfobembe

Stanley is an 8 year old Pekingese with intervertebral disc disease.  He's been disabled since 2008 following two major back surgeries on herniated discs.  Paralyzed twice, re-learned how to walk twice, and his medical file is 4 inches thick.

The Stanny Diaries is a dog blog with a special interest in caring for disabled dogs—emotionally, financially and practically.

See you soon, Angus

This morning my friend Nora lost her Scottie dog Angus.  He died peacefully and naturally, on their front porch listening to the morning birds.  Angus was Stan's first friend and the first dog I ever lived with (along with Macky).  He hated to have his picture taken, often running away the minute you raised your camera.  How I snapped this photo of him I'll never know.

Angus was a wonderful companion and will be sorely missed.  He loved to play soccer and go for rides, and he was a wonderful friend to his fellow canines and humans alike. He was a source of comfort during hard times for his family, especially Nora.  Angus was lucky to have such a wonderful dog mom, who fed him the best food and let him live his life naturally and fully.  She was there with him until the end, just like he was always there for her.  I know he'll still be there for her, just in a different way.

I think Stan knew this morning that his friend had moved on over the Rainbow Bridge.  He was very somber, and I know he will miss Angy.

We'll see you again some day, Angy-pangy.  Rest in peace, pal.

I'm very sorry for your loss. What a peaceful way to go, though. Angus looks like a great friend and I know you all are going to miss him greatly. Hugs to Angus's mom, Stan and you.
